Not all search sites are equal.
Websites like Zillow.com, Trulia.com, and Realtor.com are useful tools for Buyers to define their home search criteria, but...
Imagine buying a car online, never seeing it in person, without consumer reviews, a vehicle report, and test drive. Then imagine the information you based your decisions on was inaccurate or incomplete.

The value of a Realtor® is having someone on your side fighting for you, who knows the market, the home-buying process, and will make the process as painless as possible. Having your Realtor® involved in your home search, keeps the lines of communication open and allows for valuable advice from someone with experience in the field.
Redfin recently conducted a quality study on the data accuracy of Real Estate Websites. Here is what they had to say.
"Local brokerage sites are considerably more complete, more accurate, and timlier."
"On portal sites (Zillow, Trulia, etc...), over a third of the results are not really for sale."
"Brokerage sites show newly-listed homes 7-9 days faster."
"Since local brokerages update the data on their sites with new information from the MLS as often as every 15 minutes, when a home buyer searches a local brokerage site, there are little to no sites that are outdated and no longer for sale."
"Conclusion: MLS-powered local brokerage sites enjoy three major advantages over portal sites:
- Brokerage sites show 100% of the agent-listed homes for sale, compared to only 80% on portal sites.
- Brokerage sites show new homes for sale seven to nie days earlier than portal sites.
- 36% of home listings that appear as active portal sites are no longer for sale."

Don't be misled.
When you start a home search with me your home search results come directly from the source, the Multiple Listing Service (MLS).
What is the MLS? The MLS is a tool that Realtors® use to communicate up-to-date home information with other Realtors®. The MLS helps Realtors® efficiently and effectively search homes based on their clients needs. It was created specifically to avoid what can often happen on sites like Zillow and Trulia, where buyers experience disappointment over listings that are no longer available or were inaccurate.
Unfortunately I have had this displeasure of telling unrepresented buyers who call in and discover that the listings they wanted to see where already in contract, despite what they found online themselves. I can hear the letdown in their voice. I don't want this to happen to you.
